Sew Excited!

I made my first sell on Etsy.  That is in My Sew Fun Designs Shop.  I also made 4 more sales on my headbands.

I sold this adroable little pink, brown, polka dot, paisley coaster set.

I have more items in the works and rattling around in my brain for my Sew Fun Designs Shop.

I did find out that on July 26th, someone opened an etsy shop with a name VERY close to my own name.  I don’t know how much I care about that.  However, there is really nothing I can do about it.  The seller doesn’t have anything listed…..YET.

My shop is Sew Fun Designs.  The shop I found is Sew Fun Designs Too.  I guess I am just very lucky that I registered the name on July 2nd.

I have headbands to make this weekend and hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be adding new fabric for my headbands.  As well as getting new items listed in my Sew Fun Shop!

I hope you all have had a great week on Etsy.

Custom Headband Orders….

Hey Guys!

Yes, Yes, Yes, I make Custom/Special Orders on my headbands.  I shared this on my personal blog.  And decided I better share it here as well.

At the end of last month I had a client that had a special order of 5 headbands to make for her Wedding. One, I was THRILLED!   Two, it was my first custom order. Three, my creations were going to be used in a  wedding.  Four, She has a Awesome theme for her September wedding. That theme is Polka Dots.

Once I got all the headbands made, I could see why she was using Polka Dots as her theme.  All 5 of them turned out GORGEOUS!  Here is a picture of my first custom headband order.  White Polka Dots on a Black background.

She didn’t purchase them off Etsy (eBay is where she found me).  She loved them.  I hope to get more custom orders in the near future!  I had a great time making these.

I am sure her wedding is just going to be GORGEOUS!

Sharing My Favorite Etsy Shops!

I thought I would share my favorite Etsy sellers and there shops.  I spend more time on Etsy these days than I do on Feebay eBay.  There are so awesome Etsians out there. These are in NO particular order.

1. Orangutan Belly–I haven’t purchased anything from her…….YET!  She has some great looking things.  Go and check her out.

2. Sugarlane Soaps—I just bought some chocolate chip cookie soaps from her and will go back next week to buy more…I bought them for my daughter who will be turning 10 on the 25th of this month.  Her soaps look YUMMY!

3. Homemade Caramels and other sweet treats.  Here stuff looks absolutely delish!  And yes, I am going to be purchasing some.  Caramels are my Favorite candy.  (well Caramels aren’t my only favorite.)

4. KaraKu Fabric–I haven’t purchased from this shoppe—YET!  She has lots of nice Japanese Fabric and I am really starting to like Japanese import fabrics.  She also has other beautiful mixes of color and splash of color fabrics.  Go check it out if you are into fabrics or are a fabric junkie such as myself.

5. Trails of Paper—I haven’t purchased from this shoppe—YET.  I plan to though.  I love the mailing envelopes that she has.

Now here are a few Items that I want to buy…

1.  Mary Jane Baby Shoes pattern–Her finished shoes look so sweet.  Think mine will finish up looking as sweet.  (HIGHLY doubtful).

2.  Sock Monkey— Isn’t she just the cutest???  Don’t know why I want her but I do….She will probably sell before I get around to ‘adopting’ her.

3.  Dine N doodle–Now, why didn’t I think of this.  This seller is very creative.  And if you knotice it is also SOCK MONKEY! hmmm…I see a trend here.  My son would love this.

Do you have any favorite etsy shops or items on etsy.  Care to share?

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!

Hello Everyone!

Well, I have a personal blog and a recipe blog.  I decided I better have a Etsy blog as well to go along with my other two passions.

A little about me. I am a mom, wife, retired army wife, daughter, and grand-daughter, sister, sister in law and finally daughter in law.  I am the mom to 4 awesome kids.  Daniel, Aimee, Zachary, and David.  Ages 11, almost 10, 7 and 4.  I am wife of 14.5 years to Eric.  Who is retired from the Army after serving almost 22 years.  He is fluent in German and Arabic.  And he jumped, or was  Airborne…meaning he is was on Jump status while in the Army.  He jumped out of planes….my sons think that is just the coolest thing.  He retired at the ripe ole’ age of 40.

I grew up in Oklahoma.  Have one little sister who is 8 years younger than me.  One niece who is 18 months.  And a brother in law that went to a rival school of mine.  Matter of fact he is the principals kid.  We still love him just the same.  He does have his priorities in order by being a Oklahoma Sooners fan.

My mom is a total grandma.  She spoils all 5 of her grandchildren.  Just when I think she is running out of space to love….BOOM she does something so nice, and sweet for her grandchildren it is unbelievable.  I have an awesome step dad as well.

I also have two wonderful nieces and two cool dude nephews on my husbands side.  I have a awesome father in law, the sweets step-mother in law and a gorgeous mother in law.

Myself, I enjoy my passions.  My first passion is God, and my family.  My extended family and friends.  My second passion is cooking and baking.  I just LOVE to cook and bake.  My third passion is decorating.  I love to decorate my house and change it up.

To keep myself busy I enjoy doing crafts and sewing.  I also enjoy doing crafts with my kids. I love sewing and making my headbands.

Which brings me to Etsy.  I got into making headbands because of my daughter Aimee.  I found that I was spending to much money on not so cute headbands. I found within 2 days I was making adorable headbands for my daughter to wear.  I started them on ebay and while they did do very well there and still continue….I just wasn’t happy with all the fee’s ebay charges.  So a Bloggy buddytold me about Etsy.

So far, I have been posting at etsy with my headbands since June 5, 2008.  I have sold 12 headbands so far…and I love it.  I have meet a few great new ‘friends’ on etsy.  To find my headbands my here is my store on Etsy for my headbands.

My second shop that hasn’t been opened for very long is called Sew Fun Designs.  I love creating things with my Sewing Machine.  In Sew Fun you will soon find more Coaster sets, table runners, napkins, crayon holders, burpies, blankets, aprons, etc.  Basically home decor type stuff plus baby and child items.  You will not find any clothing because well, clothing just isn’t my thing. Here is where you can find my Sew Fun Designs shops at on Etsy.

I can’t wait to add more items to both of my Etsy shops.

The purpose of this blog is to let you know of my sales, new items, etc.

Thank you so much for reading my first Etsy blog post.  I hope to post at least 2 to 3 times a week here on my Sew Fun Designs blog!

Have a AWESOME DAY!
